Information

Scuola 24760 is accepting new students for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

We are currently accepting students in grades 8 and 9, primarily in the software development (sensors) and design subteams. Applicants should be able to work effectively on a team in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines. 

For software applicants, programming experience is required, ideally in Java. Experience using vision libraries or sensors, i.e. OpenCV, is recommended. 

For design/hardware applicants, experience with CAD (Onshape) is required, and applicants should have demonstrated engineering principles in design, including modularity and adaptability. For assembly, experience with power tools and the ability to read design blueprints are recommended. 

Scuola Robotics can offer a full FTC computing setup, and experienced team members can help with questions; however, they are not teachers. Members should be able to study independently and grasp concepts quickly and effectively.

Through the program, students can learn skills such as public speaking, time management, collaboration, organization, and leadership. We also aim to develop real-world skills in programming, vision, math, CAD design, project management, and mechanical assembly.

Application Process

Before you apply, please thoroughly review the team handbook. Once you have reviewed the team handbook and noted the time commitments (including the precedence of robotics over other extracurricular activities), please fill out the application form below. 

Once we have reviewed applications, we will select candidates for a virtual interview. After the interview process, we will contact selected candidates individually to sign the contract and join the team.

Expected time commitment:

September - February* (Build and Competition): 2+ nights (2-3hrs)/week + 1 weekend (6+hrs)
February* - June (Offseason): 1+ night/week (2-3hrs), potentially online
* may change due to circumstances

Team Fee: $400, payable by e-Transfer upon signing the contract. All travel and food expenses are the responsibility of the individual.
